Multiple Installations of Quantum Heat Pump Systems
All Quantum Eco Hot Water commercial heat pumps must be installed by a licenced plumber. The information below is for installers only.
Manifold Recommendations
All installations of Quantum Titan Commercial Heat Pump systems are to comply with the following Quantum standard as well as AS/NZS 3500.4:2003. Please consult this standard before proceeding with any installation.
- All QTM heat pumps are to be of the same size and type i.e. 340L Compact Titan systems.
- All QTM hp systems are to be installed on an equal flow manifold (connected in parallel to a common hot and cold manifold).
- Cold water to the cold water header manifold is to enter the bank of titan’s from the opposite and to that from which hot water will leave the hot water header manifold.
- For circulating systems the warm water return is to connect to the cold water header manifold and enter the cold water header manifold from the opposite end to which hot water will flow to the circulating system.
- Cold and Hot water header manifolds are to be of the same size and length with identical connections. For sizing of header manifold pipes please see attached manifolded titan specifications parts A & B.
- Inlet branch pipes connecting the cold water header manifold and heat pumps are to be of the same size, shape and length with identical connections.
- Outlet branch pipes connecting the hot water header manifold and heat pumps are to be of the same size, shape and length with identical connections.
- Isolating valves are to be fitted to cold water inlet pipes and hot water outlet pipes. These valves are to be full bore ¼ turn ball valves and sized to match the branch pipes.
- A Condensate drain is to be installed to each unit.
- Minimum 13mm Armaflex insulation or similar is to be used on all hot water pipes and hot water connections.
Installation Recommendations
- All Quantum heat pump systems are to be installed a minimum 500mmm away from any wall towards which cold air will be directed.
- All Quantum heat pump systems are to be spaced minimum 900mm between centres (250mm between tanks).
- A 15A isolating switch is to be located within 1 metre of each unit. There is to be a separate 16A circuit breaker per unit. *NOTE* 3 pin plugs are not recommended.
Installation Requirements
- All Quantum heat pumps are to be fitted with 1000 kPa TPR valves
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE QUANTUM TITAN UNITS TO BE DRILLED. DOING SO WILL VOID THE QUANTUM WARRANTY.
