Victorian Energy Efficency Certificates (VEEC's)

Owners of eligible solar water heaters (SWHs), including heat pump water heaters, may qualify to create Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs). One VEEC represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e) to be reduced by the prescribed activity undertaken by the consumer.Consumers are able to assign their right to create VEECs to an accredited person. In assigning their right to an accredited person, in return the accredited person should provide consumers with an identifiable benefit for the assignation, such as a price reduction on a product.
VEECs are managed by the Essential Services Commission (ESC) who oversee the creation, registration, transfer and surrender of the VEEC's, imposing penalties, conducting audits, and
monitoring compliance with the VEEC Act.
Owners of a Quantum heat pump water heater can benefit from VEEC's by assigning them to an Agent. In return, the Agent may provide a discount on the purchase price or offer a once-off payment for the VEEC's. Quantum is a registered Agent; which means that we purchase and sell VEEC’s. The price of VEEC's fluctuate and are dictated by the level of supply and demand in the market.

How to claim your VEEC's:
| Step One | Determine how many VEEC's are assigned to the Quantum system that you have installed. You will need to visit the Essential Services Commission website and view the file titled, "1C - Decommissioning electric and installing electric boosted solar"
