Owners of eligible Solar Water Heaters (SWHs), including Quantum heat pump water heaters, qualify under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000, to create Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
RECs exist electronically in an internet based registry managed by the Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator (ORER). In the context of SWHs, each REC represents the equivalent of one megawatt hour of renewable energy generation. RECs have a value determined by the market in which they may be traded.
Owners of a Quantum heat pump water heater can benefit from RECs by assigning them to an Agent. In return, the Agent may provide a discount on the purchase price or offer a once-off payment for the RECs.
Quantum are a registered Agent with the ORER; which means that we purchase and sell REC’s. The price of RECs fluctuate and are dictated by the level of supply and demand in the market.
How to claim your RECs:

Determine what Postcode Zone you belong to. (This will affect the number of RECs you are eligible to receive) |

Determine how many RECs are assigned to the Quantum system that you have installed. CLICK HERE to view list of Quantum products and their corresponding RECs. |
