QLD Government Annouces New Solar Hot Water Rebate
QLD Government is encouraging housholds to install enviromentally friendly solar hot water heat pumps by offering a new rebate of $1000 (for pensioners and low income earners) or $600 for non-pensioners, when they purchase and install eligable solar hot water systems purchased on or after the April 13, 2010.
Key Eligibility Criteria - ($600)
- The system has to have been purchased on or after April 13, 2010
- Be a heat pump hot water system eligible for at least 20 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECS)
- Replacing an existing electric storage hot water system in a principle place of residence
- Be installed by licensed parties (current BSA and occupational licenses)
Key Eligibility Criteria - ($1000 - Pensioners and Low Income Earners)
- Meet all the criteria for the standard $600 rebate and hold a current;
- Centrelink Pension Concession Card, or
- Centrelink Low Income Health Care Card, or
- Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, or
- Department of Veterans’ Affairs Pension Concession Card (blue only—orange, white and gold card holders are not eligible)
The QLD Solar Hot Water Rebate is in conjunction with the Federal Governments Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). The QLD Government will assess all applications and eligibility is not guaranteed just from submitting an application. All payments will commence from July 1, 2010.
